Values

We Unitarian Universalists are diverse.

Here in our Riverside congregation we are inspired by Christianity, Taoism, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, and Nature oriented religions. We are theists, agnostics and atheists. We are skeptics and believers.

Hands of our congregation, all ages and ethnic backgrounds

We are the politcal right and left. We are singles and families. We are straight and gay. We are white collar and blue collar. We are doctorate educated and street wise.

We are Stay-at-Home Dads and working Soccer Moms. We are Homeschool students and Public School Teachers and Administrators. We are citizens of many countries and of one world. We are the active retired and the just plain tired.

We gather from many walks of life with many different experiences and many varieties of living.

In all this diversity and difference, what holds us together?

Our shared Unitarian Universalism unites us and makes our diversity our strenghth. Both the Seven Principles and Purposes of our continental Unitarian Universalist Association and the personal values of those in our congregation are of equal importance to us. As you read through our commonly shared and our specifically held values know that they all challenge us to not only search for a deeper living but are the means for us to find it.
